Looking for country decor above kitchen cabinets that feels a little more personal? Baskets, pretty pitchers and trailing greenery give you plenty to work with.
I especially love the blue-and-white dishes and little rooster details in these ideas.
You can keep things simple or go all out with a seasonal display. Along with cabinet-top arrangements, there are wall shelves and countertop groupings here for borrowing colors and decorative details.

Country kitchen decorating ideas worth saving
lemon yellow and little plants
We’re starting off strong with this pretty display above gray cabinets. I love the bright lemons at one end and the silver-colored bucket at the other.
Keep a low row of greenery beneath a long black sign to try the same arrangement. The little clear vases are a lovely extra touch.
a tidy row of baskets
Don’t want to go all out with signs and flowers? No problem!
These similarly shaped baskets make such a pretty row above the white cabinets.
The smaller baskets and round trays inside the glass-front doors repeat the look below. I’d keep that same simple brown-and-white combination.
pitchers around the corner
How cute is this corner display? The tall white pitcher, patterned plate and little checked accents give you so much to look at.
A green wreath hangs on the cabinet door below rather than sitting up top. Try that detail if you want to carry the greenery down into the rest of your kitchen.

a colorful rooster sign
Calling all rooster fans, this wall arrangement is so cute! The large country kitchen sign sits between open shelves and hanging copper-colored pans.
This isn’t a cabinet-top display, but you could borrow its red, cream and green colors for one. I especially love the little flowers beside the sign.
red shelves and roosters
I am obsessed with the red shelf in this kitchen. The heart-shaped cutouts are adorable, plus there are rooster figures and decorated platters lined up above them.
The mugs hang beneath the shelf with small rooster pictures below. Save this wall-shelf idea if you love a collection that doesn’t hold back.
patterned plates and cream bowls
If you are looking for a pretty way to show off your dishes, this one is for you. Dark floral designs fill the upper rows of this cream plate rack, with plain dishes underneath.

That large oval platter may just be my favorite part. For a cabinet-top variation, you could display a similar platter on a suitable plate stand.
greenery over the breakfast bar
How gorgeous are these trailing leaves? They stretch across the high ledge over the breakfast bar and hang down at different lengths.
The greenery is above the kitchen opening rather than directly on the cabinets. It’s a lovely alternative if your room has a similar ledge.
colorful signs above the stove
If you love a kitchen wall with lots going on, then this one is for you. Colorful signs surround a small clock above the range hood, with flowers and pitchers on the ledge below.
I love the large round trays above the neighboring cabinets. You could borrow those without recreating the whole wall.
little pans and framed art
This is such a pretty little kitchen nook. The copper-colored pans hang below a dark still-life picture in a gold-colored frame.
There’s no cabinet-top arrangement here, but that small picture is worth borrowing for your own display. Pair similar framed art with a cream pitcher if you want a quieter grouping.
crate shelves with little jars
Want something a little different from ordinary open shelves? These crate-shaped shelves hold rows of jars, with little potted plants mixed into the bottom row.

The slanted fronts are my favorite detail. This is a wall-storage idea rather than decor above cabinets, so keep it in mind for an empty kitchen wall.
trailing leaves and autumn colors
I am obsessed with this full display above the brown cabinets. The greenery spills over the edge, with orange-brown accents tucked through the middle.
A large basket sits at one end. Keep that detail if you want to break up all the leaves without adding another color.
a tall milk can and tiny windmill
How cute is that little windmill? It sits beside a pale planter and a tall weathered-looking milk can above the cabinets.
The round clock, basket and white rooster fill the other side. If you’re trying a similar arrangement, check your overhead space before choosing the tallest piece.
white canisters and blossoms
This is actually one of my favorite ways to decorate a long cabinet ledge. The white labeled canisters sit together in the middle, with greenery and pale flowers around them.
I love how the blossoms trail over the right corner. The black-and-white checked curtain below makes the whole kitchen look even sweeter.
a patchwork of open crates
These crate shelves are similar to the earlier ones, but the arrangement is completely different. Tall and wide boxes overlap across the wall, holding glasses, mugs and little plants.
This kitchen uses open shelving instead of upper cabinets. If that’s your setup too, try mixing the directions of the boxes rather than lining everything up.
blue-and-white pitchers
I love this blue-and-white collection. The tall patterned pitcher and leafy plant sit on a small shelf, with decorated plates hanging beneath it on ribbons.
For a cabinet-top version, borrow the pitchers and leafy greenery. Keep the hanging-plate arrangement as inspiration for a separate wall.
white jars between green plants
If you are looking for a simple color combination, this one is for you. Two white patterned jars sit between leafy plants, with large handled baskets toward the ends.
The fine trailing greenery looks so pretty against the white cabinet doors. I’d keep the jars together just like this.
cream pitchers and a round tray
Don’t want to fill the entire top of your kitchen cabinets? Try this little grouping of cream vessels, a basket and a round woven tray.
I love the leafy branches rising out of the vessels on the right. The upright tray gives you another tall piece without adding more flowers.
baskets in different shapes
The basket fans are going to love this! Instead of matching every piece, this display mixes tall cylinders, rounded baskets and different handle shapes.
A trailing plant sits between them. The smaller baskets on the open shelves below are a cute way to repeat the idea.
layered boards and a little cloche
How pretty is this countertop arrangement? Large cutting boards stand behind a pedestal with a wire dome, while a small copper-colored watering can rests on a stack of books.
This one belongs on the counter as pictured. For your cabinet tops, you could borrow the layered-board idea and leave the bread display below.
fall leaves across the cabinets
Last but definitely not least, we have this gorgeous fall display. I love the orange leaves running along the cabinet tops, with pale pumpkins tucked between them.
The wreath and large framed fall sign sit above the garland. Try those taller pieces toward the back if you want to recreate the same seasonal arrangement.
