There are some lovely little details here worth saving!
Mid Century Modern Ideas to Try at Home
cocktail prints and a rounded sideboard
We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous brown sideboard and its rounded corners. I love the orange circle in the large print, especially beside those colorful cocktail pictures.
Try a little globe lamp on a stack of books to follow this setup. Leave a little space between your tabletop pieces rather than filling the entire top.
white table and an arched lamp
How pretty is this dining corner? The white pedestal table sits beneath a sweeping arched lamp, with pink tulips in the middle.
That large pastel artwork is such a lovely addition.
If you want to try the same mix, pair white chairs with olive-green seat pads.
striped bedding and matching lamps
If you are looking for a bedroom idea that keeps the colors simple, this one is for you. Black-and-white stripes sit against a brown headboard, with matching gold-tone lamps on either side.
The orange shapes in the artwork add just enough color. Try a pair of small abstract prints above your bed for a similar look.
slats that wrap onto the ceiling
This entryway may just be one of my favorites here. I love how the brown slats continue right over the ceiling, with a glowing edge above them.
The bench below has simple gold-tone handles that go with the hooks. A pale cushion and a potted plant are the only extras on top.
black lounge chair and big leaves
I am obsessed with this little seating area. The black lounge chair and matching ottoman look so good in front of those huge split leaves.
If you want to follow this arrangement, place an arched lamp beside your chair. Don’t forget a small side table for whatever you’re reading.

green stripes in the kitchen
The green and brown pairing is so pretty in this kitchen. Narrow green tiles cover the backsplash and repeat around the rounded counter support.
Not ready for a kitchen makeover? Take inspiration from the smaller details instead.
Try an orange kettle or a trailing plant on an open shelf.
round mirror and dark green shower
Here is another green-and-brown combination, but this time it’s in the bathroom. I love the round mirror above the white basin and the simple black wall-mounted faucet.
The double light above the mirror is worth saving too. Its little rounded shades look lovely beside the tall lines of the shower tiles.
a desk full of little treasures
Prefer a desk with lots to look at? This one mixes a traditional-looking brown desk with a green swivel chair, framed pictures and plenty of plants.
The tiny display shelf is my favorite part. Try something similar for your small keepsakes, leaving space in front for an open book or laptop.
records and cocktail glasses
How cute is this drinks-and-records corner? The amber glasses hang below the rounded tabletop, with a record player and cocktail tools above.
I especially love the little lamp perched on books. A large round mirror behind your setup is a pretty detail to borrow.

a brick fireplace with yellow accents
If you love a room with lots of different details, then this one is for you. There’s a brick fireplace, an open slatted divider and a white oval pendant overhead.
Those stacked yellow shapes on the hearth are so fun! Try a pair of sculptural yellow accessories beside your fireplace if you want a smaller change.
branching globe lights
I am obsessed with this branching chandelier. The glowing white globes and gold-tone arms look gorgeous above the long brown dining table.
Keep your centerpiece simple if you want to try a similar combination. The dark pitcher with tall flowering branches is plenty here.

curved cabinet and patterned walls
This little entryway has so much personality. I love the rounded vertical sections on the cabinet and the wavy mirror above it.
The green geometric wall pattern makes the orange flowers even prettier. Try that flower-and-wall color pairing if you’re looking for something a little different.
blue layers and black sconces
Don’t want to go all out with bright colors? No problem! Try blue bedding over white, with a small brown nightstand beside the bed.
I love the black angled sconces on either side of the pale headboard. They leave the bedside surface free for a book.
colorful prints above a gray sofa
The gallery-wall fans are going to love this! Orange shapes, little illustrations and bold lettering fill the wall above a dark gray sofa.
Try bringing a couple of those colors onto the sofa with orange and green cushions. The red patterned rug here gives you another color to work with.
a yellow lamp and tall greenery
This yellow lamp may just be my favorite little detail so far. Its wide rounded shade sits in front of framed artwork, with a tall snake plant nearby.

The shelves below hold books and a game controller too. You don’t have to hide all your everyday things to try this look.
record cabinets with open shelves
Got a record collection you’d like to show off? This collage gives you several cabinet ideas, from long low units to smaller stands with divided shelves.
I’d choose one with open record storage and a clear top for the turntable. Check the dimensions of your equipment before picking your own.
orange chairs among the plants
Who says all the color has to stay indoors? These orange grid-back chairs look so cute against the huge green leaves.
A small black table sits between them on the gravel. Try the same simple arrangement in a garden corner, choosing pieces intended for outdoor use.
rainbow books and an orange lamp
I love this wall-mounted shelving with its row of color-grouped books. The bright orange mushroom-shaped lamp is just too cute beside the brown cabinets.
You can leave some shelves more open, like the one holding the model car and candleholder. There’s no need to fill every gap.
a simple console and round mirror
If you’re looking for an entryway that doesn’t need lots of accessories, go with this slim console and round mirror combination. The splayed legs and small drawer pulls are lovely details.
Try a vase with branches at each end, then keep a short stack of books on the lower shelf.
orange lamps and pink swirls
Last but definitely not least, we have this colorful listening corner. I am obsessed with the big orange arched lamp!
Smaller lights glow across the open shelving below the records and framed prints.
The pink swirls on the dark rug are another favorite. If you want to try this look gradually, start with one orange lamp beside your record player.
