Beautiful corners and striking views to save

a pool tucked between the rocks

We’re starting off strong with this gorgeous little waterfall. I love the deep green pool tucked beneath the curved rock wall.

The pink flowers in the foreground make it even prettier.

Save this for the smaller details worth looking out for, rather than treating the photo as directions to a confirmed swimming spot.

a curved beach in golden light

How pretty is this shoreline? The pale beach curves around a dark strip of pebbles, with a flat-topped hill rising behind it.

That golden light across the grass is my favorite part.

If coastal photography is on your list, try including the whole curve of the beach rather than just the water.

the winding road below the cliffs

This Quiraing view may just be one of my favorites here. I love the narrow road winding beneath those huge cliffs.

There’s so much to look at before you even reach the distant water.

Give yourself room in your plans to stop at designated viewpoints rather than rushing between landmarks.

a jagged coastal headland

If you love dramatic coastal scenery, this one is for you. A jagged rock face rises above green slopes, with white surf tracing the rocks below.

The orange light on the cliff is gorgeous. Enjoy views like this from established routes well back from the edge.

stone circles beneath the outcrop

How cute are these little rolling hills? This Fairy Glen scene has a stone spiral in the foreground and a rugged outcrop above the green slopes.

I’d keep the stones exactly where they are. You don’t need to add anything to enjoy this view.

neist point in pink and gold

I am obsessed with the colors in this Neist Point view. The pink clouds and golden cliffs are so pretty together.

Look closely and you’ll spot the white lighthouse beyond the tall ridge.

This is a familiar Skye landmark rather than a secret stop, but it’s lovely inspiration for your coastal plans.

the old man of storr

The rock formations here really do speak for themselves. That tall, narrow pinnacle stands above the slope, with pale water and layers of mountains behind it.

The Old Man of Storr isn’t a hidden gem, so keep this one on your landmark list. I especially love this angle with the smaller spires beside it.

turquoise water and pale sand

Don’t want every saved view to be mountains and cliffs? This beach scene gives you something different.

I love the turquoise water around the flat rock shelves and the pale strip of sand.

The exact beach needs confirming before you add it as a named stop. For now, save it as coastal inspiration.

a leafy garden entrance

This is one of my favorite little details on the list. The open gate, leafy arch and gravel path make such a pretty garden scene.

If you’re adding a garden visit to your trip, check its opening arrangements first. This photograph alone doesn’t identify the garden or confirm public access.

a waterfall beside the sea

A waterfall and a sea view in the same picture? Yes, please!

This Kilt Rock and Mealt Falls view has water dropping down the near cliff, with tall, ridged cliffs farther along the coast.

Keep to the designated viewing area for this one. There’s no need to follow the cliff edge to appreciate it.

a sea stack beyond the shore

I love this rocky beach with its golden sky. The sea stack is beautiful, but the little channels winding through the wet sand are just as worth a look.

For your own beach photos, try keeping some foreground rocks in the frame. Check local tides and access before planning a shoreline walk.

colorful houses at the harbor

How cute is this waterfront? The pink building and blue window trim bring so much color to the harbor, with a fishing boat sitting right in front.

This Portree scene is a lovely change from all the rocky landscapes. Leave a little room for the harbor in your plans too.

dark water between rugged hills

If you love a mountain view with lots to take in, then this one is for you. There are dark pools, small rocky islands and rusty-brown slopes beneath a jagged skyline.

This looks like the Loch Coruisk landscape, though the exact viewpoint needs checking. Don’t assume the high vantage point is an easy walking destination.

three arches and mountain peaks

I love this view of the old Sligachan bridge. The three stone arches sit above a rock-filled river, with pointed mountains and pink clouds behind them.

Try including the river in your photos rather than cropping straight to the bridge. Those scattered rocks are such a lovely part of the scene.

a ridge scene to verify

That narrow ridge and those pointed rock formations certainly catch the eye. There’s also a low rectangular building on the grassy platform beside them.

This image needs a location and authenticity check before it belongs on a Skye itinerary. Don’t use the visible track as evidence of a real, accessible walking route.

waterfalls beneath a pink sky

I am obsessed with this pink sky above the mountain peaks. Several small waterfalls spill over a dark ledge into a clear blue-green pool.

Save this for the combination of water and mountain scenery. The photograph doesn’t establish the exact pool or promise these colors when you visit.

rock pools along the shore

Not every interesting view needs a huge mountain behind it. These flat rock shelves have shallow pools, long cracks and little patches of green beside the sea.

If you’re hoping to see Skye’s dinosaur footprints, use a verified site guide. The depressions in this photo aren’t enough to identify individual tracks confidently.

another angle on the fairy glen

This is another Fairy Glen view, but it feels different under the gray sky. I love the green folds in the hillside and the stone spiral below the outcrop.

The figures on top show the scale of the rock. Their presence isn’t a reason to copy the climb; choose a route suited to the conditions and your ability.

clear pools and cloudy peaks

This waterfall scene is another favorite. Mostly because you can see so many stones beneath the clear foreground water, with turquoise color gathering below the falls.

The low clouds around the peaks are beautiful too. If the Fairy Pools are on your list, enjoy the scenery without expecting sunshine to make the visit worthwhile.

neist point under gray skies

Last but definitely not least, we have another gorgeous view of Neist Point. I love the bright green grass against the gray sea!

The little white lighthouse sits beyond the long cliff ridge.

Compare this with the golden view earlier. It’s the same landmark with a very different look, not another stop to squeeze into your trip.
