Looking for rustic gingerbread christmas kitchen decor with little houses, smiling cookie characters and plenty of greenery? These kitchens have so many cute details to borrow, from a ribbon-tied jar to shelves filled with a whole gingerbread village.
You can keep it simple or go all out. Start with a corner of your counter, dress up your mug shelf or give a gingerbread wreath a spot on your cabinet. There’s plenty here to work with!
Gingerbread Kitchen Decorating Ideas
gingerbread around the range
We’re starting off strong with this gingerbread-filled kitchen. I love the brown houses against the patterned backsplash. The greenery across the big wooden hood brings the decorations all the way up.
For your own version, keep the houses on the side counters and shelves rather than the cooking surface. Add red-and-white striped trees between them.
a smiling rolling pin
How cute is this wall decoration? The smiling gingerbread face and red dotted handles make this oversized rolling pin worth a closer look.
Hang a similar piece between your windows if you have a narrow empty spot. The red checked curtains are such a pretty match.
green bow cookie jar
I am obsessed with this jar full of little gingerbread figures. It’s so cute, plus that dark green bow is gorgeous against the brown and white.

Pair a similar display jar with a gingerbread house beside it. You don’t need much more than that.
bakery shelves and trailing bows
If you are looking for a softer brown-and-white combination, this one is for you. Little houses, pale trees and a large gingerbread figure fill the two shelves.
I especially love the long brown bows below them. Try one on a peg rail and another around a cutting board handle to carry the color down to your counter.
snowflake jar and red stripes
This may just be one of my favorite countertop displays. The big white snowflake on the brown jar is so pretty beside the little house.
Bring in a white cake stand for your gingerbread display, then add a red striped towel. Don’t forget a little ribbon on the rolling pin if you want to follow this look.
a pitcher full of greenery
Want to gather everything in one spot? Try a round tray like this one, with a cream pitcher, a gingerbread house and smiling figures along the front.
The gingerbread character peeking out of the branches is my favorite part. A red bow around your pitcher would be a lovely finishing touch.
gingerbread friends in teacups
OMG, how adorable are these little gingerbread characters sitting in cups? The red checked bows and tiny chef’s hat make this tiered tray so fun.
There’s a red house on the bottom tier with little figures around it. Tuck a few snowy-looking sprigs around your own tray to follow the same idea.
tree mugs beside the cookie jar
Here’s a wider look at that green-bow jar, with the mug stand beside it. I love the tiny green trees on the white cups.
If you don’t want decorations across your whole counter, keep the stand, jar and house together in one group. This leaves an open stretch in front.
cutting boards and little bells
The cutting boards make such a pretty backdrop for these brown-and-white houses. The greenery and hanging bell beside the largest house are lovely little details.
I like the long red bow on the cutting board behind it too.
Lean boards of different shapes behind your display, then tie a red bow near the tallest handle. Keep a small pair of houses on a separate tray in front.
a tiny village wreath
Don’t want to fill your counters? No problem! This wreath brings the gingerbread village right onto the cabinet doors.
The little brown houses and golden-colored trees look so pretty against the pale branches. I’d keep this one just like it is, without adding a big bow.
gingerbread mugs and mini stockings
How sweet is this little drinks display? The cream mugs have brown tree designs, with marshmallows peeking over their rims and gingerbread shapes spread across the board.
The tiny stockings hanging underneath the shelf are another favorite. Try alternating cream and tan stockings if you want to keep the colors simple.
a gingerbread bakery board
If you’re looking for a wall decoration with a little personality, go with a paddle-shaped bakery sign like this one. Those three gingerbread characters are so cute.
A hanging mug filled with greenery sits beside it. Try that detail on your own rail, with a little house on the cabinet below.
reindeer and an iced sleigh
The reindeer fans are going to love this! Two brown reindeer stand beside a sleigh on the top shelf, all covered in white decorative swirls.
Below them, Santa and Mrs. Claus join a gingerbread house and white cookie jars. This is a lovely option if you want more than houses in your shelf display.
houses between snowy trees
This is another brown-and-white shelf idea, but the arrangement is a little different. I love the tall house between the reindeer on top and the smaller gingerbread figures below.
Try placing your biggest house in the middle of a shelf with trees on either side. Hang your mugs underneath so they’re part of the display too.
gingerbread cabinet garland
I am obsessed with these smiling gingerbread ornaments. Some have plain white squiggles while others are covered in colorful sprinkle-like details.
For a similar look, hang gingerbread ornaments at different lengths from a green garland. Add little red and gold-colored baubles, keeping the arrangement clear of cabinet openings.
a little house in twinkling lights
Don’t want lots of red decorations? This little brown house with white roof detailing is such a pretty alternative.
Pinecones and green branches sit around its base.
The tiny lights continue along the counter in front of the jars. Try a small light strand around your display to get that same evening glow.
orange slices and gingerbread mugs
I love this gingerbread mug shelf with the orange-slice garland down the side. The red beads add just enough color beside the brown canisters and clear jars.
A little house sits between the mugs on the middle shelf. Leave a spot for one among your everyday cups if you want to borrow the idea.
peppermint cocoa corner
Who doesn’t love a red-and-white Christmas corner? The striped mugs and giant peppermint decoration are so cute beside the smiling gingerbread jar.
Gather your cocoa packets, marshmallows and candy canes on a tray to try this setup. A gingerbread figure behind the coffee machine brings the theme up above the cups.
a candy cane house by the window
If you are looking for a big centerpiece, then this one is for you. The pale house has candy cane details around the windows and a thick white roof covered in little bumps.
I love the red ornaments on the tree beside it. Try a red striped towel along the counter to bring those same colors into the rest of your display.
a glowing gingerbread coffee nook
Last but definitely not least, we have this little coffee nook filled with gingerbread houses. I love the small village spread across the two shelves!
The tall cutting board behind the tree and nutcracker is a lovely detail. For your own corner, mix a few raised houses with ones sitting directly on the shelves, then hang a small garland underneath.
