20 Pattern Ideas for Your 2027 Home and Outfit Mood Board

Looking for pattern trends 2027 inspiration for your home or wardrobe? Striped sofas, gingham bedding and a leopard-print skirt give you plenty to start with.

These are ideas to save for your own mood board, rather than a confirmed forecast of what everyone will be choosing.

You can keep it simple or go all out. Try a little print on a scarf or cover a whole wall with a scenic design.

I especially love the combinations that bring two different patterns together.

Pattern ideas worth saving for 2027

stripes on stripes

We’re starting off strong with this pretty striped sofa. I love the narrow lines next to the wider stripes on the front pillow.

The little brown patterned cushion gives you something different in between.

If you want to go a step further, try a blue-and-white patterned lamp like the one beside the window.

checkerboard kitchen floor

How cute is this little kitchen? The black-and-cream checkerboard floor is my favorite part, especially with the curved chairs and round table.

Keep your cabinets a plain cream shade if you want to follow this look. There’s already plenty of pattern underfoot.

delicate bathroom wallpaper

If you are looking for a pattern that doesn’t feel too bold, this one is for you. The pale wallpaper has a fine trailing design around the mirror and vanity.

I love how the dark brown cabinet stands out against it.

red gingham and tiny florals

I am obsessed with this red-and-white gingham bedding. It’s so cute with the little floral pillow peeking out behind it.

The lampshade has brown checks instead of red, so everything doesn’t have to match exactly. Try keeping that mix if you’re putting together your own gingham bedroom.

leopard skirt and black layers

Don’t want to wear print from head to toe? No problem!

This leopard-print skirt sits below a plain black belted jacket, with black boots underneath.

I’d keep the slim belt and small gold-tone necklaces. They’re lovely little details without adding another print.

black dots on white

This polka-dot dress may just be one of my favorite outfits here. I love the scattered black dots and short puffed sleeves.

Try black flats and dark sunglasses to follow the look. The long white skirt gives those dots plenty of room.

paisley tied at the waist

Who says your scarf has to go around your neck? The cream-and-black paisley scarf here sits over blue jeans, with its pointed corner hanging at the side.

I love it with the loose white top. The spotted bag and black-and-white shoes add even more pattern if you want to take the idea further.

long houndstooth coat

If you’re looking for an outfit that keeps the colors simple, go with this brown-and-cream houndstooth coat over black. The oversized lapels and long hem give you plenty of that tiny repeating pattern.

Those large square sunglasses are a detail I’d keep too.

olive checked curtains

Don’t want to add wallpaper but still want a big dose of pattern? These olive-and-cream checked curtains are such a pretty option.

I love the narrow vertical lines running through the wider horizontal bands.

Try them against plain white walls like these so you can really see the design.

blue scenic walls

If you are looking for a room with lots of pattern, then this one is for you. There are large trees and little buildings across the wall, plus blue-and-white patterned pillows on the bed.

I am in love with the curved cream headboard. Keep your main bedding plain if you want to try this same combination.

curves on a cream rug

Don’t want bright colors or a busy print? No problem there!

This cream rug has raised-looking lines that curve around and turn into squared corners.

The rounded chair and black tables look so good beside it. You can have plenty of pattern without adding another color.

speckles from floor to shower

This is such a pretty way to use a terrazzo-style pattern. The little brown, dark and pale flecks continue from the bathroom floor onto the shower walls.

I especially love the rounded vanity and oval mirror. Try gold-tone fixtures if you want to follow the details shown here.

herringbone patio

Take the pattern outside with this red-toned herringbone patio. The narrow rectangles change direction all across the seating area, with a border following the edge.

The patterned chair backs are lovely too. I’d leave some of the patio uncovered so you can enjoy that zigzag arrangement.

patchwork stars and flowers

How pretty is this patchwork quilt? There’s so much to look at, from the green triangles to the little orange flowers and pale pink patches.

The folded-back edge shows another small black motif on the reverse. Keep the pillows mostly cream if you want the same mix without adding lots more color.

trailing flowers on the table

I love this floral tablecloth with its curling stems and pink-and-red flowers. The green border along the bottom is such a pretty finishing detail.

For your own table, try plain plates in cream or green. I’d let those flowers do most of the decorating.

colorful marbled dishes

These swirled dishes are just too pretty not to save. My favorite is the pale pink one in the middle with the fine flower outlines.

You don’t have to stick to one color here. The rust, mustard and pink dishes look lovely together against the blue background.

green scalloped shower

The scallop fans are going to love this! Rows of green curved shapes cover the shower walls, with pale outlines around each one.

I’d keep the shower floor plain and light like this. Those little overlapping shapes already give you so much to look at.

red plaid layers

This is another pretty way to mix checks, but it’s a little different from the gingham bedroom. A red-and-tan plaid throw is draped over the red chair’s back and seat, with a red-and-green checked pillow in front.

Try a plain tan cushion behind your patterned one to follow this little arrangement.

sun and wave mosaic

I am obsessed with these curling blue waves. The little mosaic shapes form pale outlines around them, with a golden sun and long rays above.

If you’d rather keep pattern on your walls than your furniture, a large round artwork like this is a lovely idea.

wavy stripes on a bench

Last but definitely not least, we have this cream bench with dark wavy stripes. I love how the pattern continues over the seat and down the chunky legs!

The plain curtains behind it keep the rest simple. Try a patterned bench in front of neutral shelving if you want a similar look.
