Looking for fall handprint crafts with cute little details? Think brown handprints turned into hedgehogs, leafy wreaths and smiling acorns.
These pictures include handprint ideas alongside a few footprint crafts and seasonal templates, so not every project starts with a painted palm.
You can keep things simple or go all out with autumn colors. I especially love the handprint leaves!
For any stamping activity, choose paint labeled for children’s skin contact and keep cutting and small decorations adult-supervised.
Fall craft ideas with little prints and autumn colors
turkey and feather outlines
We’re starting with this cute turkey template. The round body and separate pointed feathers are plain outlines, with a little finished example in the corner.
This isn’t a handprint design as shown. For a handprint variation, you could swap the separate feathers for colorful traced hands behind the turkey.
a bare happy fall tree
Want a starting point rather than a finished painting? This brown tree has bare branches above the words “Happy FALL,” with a few colorful leaves around the lettering.
There aren’t any handprints here yet. You could add orange and yellow prints around the branches to give it your own autumn canopy.
little pumpkins and curling vines
How cute are these little pumpkins? The photos show an orange-painted fist making the rounded print, so this one uses a different part of the hand.
I love the green vines curling between the pumpkins. Short brown stems and little green leaves finish the framed picture.
yellow sunflower pieces
The bright yellow petals are so pretty on this sunflower template. A separate dotted center, green stem and two leaves sit beside the flower, all with dashed cutting guides.
This is a cutout design rather than a handprint craft. If you’d like to adapt it, try traced yellow hands in place of the pointed petals.

a sleepy handprint hedgehog
This hedgehog may just be my favorite one so far. I love the closed eyes and little smile, but those overlapping brown handprints are the cutest part.
The fingers fan out behind the pale face and body to make the spines. Keep that spread-out shape if you’re trying your own version.
an owl on a branch
I am obsessed with this little owl. The brown handprint points downward, with big white eyes and an orange beak above the branch.
The small dark feather marks are such a sweet detail. You could add your child’s name below the picture to make it their own.
a fox face with a bow
How adorable is this orange fox face? The long ears sit above the palm while the fingers lead down toward a black nose and whiskers.
I especially love the gold-colored bow beside one ear. For a version without separate little decorations, you could draw the bow and eyes instead.
a smiling scarecrow template
This scarecrow has such a cute stitched smile. The outlined shirt, overalls, hat and patches are separate pieces, ready for your choice of colors.
There are no handprints in the pictured design. A handprint border around the finished scarecrow would be one way to bring them into your own version.
an apple tree photo collage
This is such a sweet way to personalize a tree picture. Bright green handprints spread across the branches, with little red apples dotted over them.
The photo cutout beside the trunk is my favorite part. Try positioning your own photo beneath the tree with a large apple illustration, like the one here.
an autumn handprint wreath
If you love decorating with autumn colors, this one is for you. Burgundy, orange, tan and golden-yellow handprints overlap around an open center.
I love the little checked bow at the top. Leave a white border around each print if you want that same clearly outlined look.
smiling hand-shaped acorns
OMG, how cute are these acorns? The tan hand shapes have big eyes, pink cheeks and the sweetest curved smiles.
A dark brown cap sits across the top with crisscross lines over it. This is a lovely option if you’d rather trace a hand than make a painted print.
yellow footprint corn
Here’s a footprint idea rather than a handprint one. The yellow print has brown kernel lines across it, with green husks opening out at the bottom.
Those little toe prints are still clearly visible at the top. I’d keep the background plain like this so you can see the whole shape.
a squirrel with a handprint tail
The squirrel fans are going to love this! A simple tan squirrel sits in front of a big tail made from overlapping brown and reddish handprints.
The fingers point upward and outward behind its back. Try a few slightly different browns if you want a tail with the same mixed-color look.
handprint leaves with dark veins
Don’t want to add faces or little decorations? No problem!
These handprint leaves use mixed autumn colors with dark lines running through the palms and fingers.

I love how the patches of green sit beside yellow and brown. Each print looks a little different, which is worth keeping rather than trying to make them match.
a love grows here tree
This tree gives the whole arm a part in the picture. A brown forearm print forms the trunk while the hand spreads into branches, surrounded by red, yellow, orange and green dots.
The words “Love Grows Here” wrap around it. A little heart above the branches makes the message even sweeter.
a sparkling pumpkin handprint
Want a little sparkle in your fall artwork? This orange-brown hand shape is covered with shiny flecks against a pale green background.

A brown stem and green outlined leaf turn it into a pumpkin-inspired design. The picture shows the leaf being drawn, but not the full process for the sparkling finish.
a spotted footprint mushroom
How sweet is this little mushroom? This one uses a footprint, with the toes at the bottom and a red cap above the heel.
The cream-colored spots are my favorite detail. You could keep the same red-and-tan combination or choose a different cap color for your own picture.
a wreath with a red checked bow
This is another handprint wreath, but the bow gives it a slightly different look. Red-and-white checks sit above the orange and brown prints, with long ribbon ends hanging through the middle.
I love the broad white edges around the hands. Keep the prints overlapping if you want the same full circle.
a wall-sized thankful tree
If you are looking for something bigger, then this tree is for you. The dark trunk stretches up the wall with colorful hand-shaped leaves scattered across the branches.
Each hand has a handwritten note. For your own thankful tree, invite everyone to write something they appreciate on a traced hand before adding it.
pumpkins leaves and little ghosts
Last but definitely not least, we have this cute mix of fall and Halloween prints. I love the orange palm pumpkins with green fingers beside the autumn handprint leaves.

The white ghosts are footprints, with little black faces near the heels. You could bring all three designs together in a garland for your own fall display.
